Isengard
![]() The History of Isengard There isn't much to say about Isengard, as it is more of a place than an actual region or realm. Isengard was built by the early Gondorians to guard the Gap of Rohan, a pass between the Misty Mountains and the White Mountains. It was later given by the Steward Beren of Gondor to Saruman, where he resided until the War of the Ring. Isengard was destroyed by the Ents during their siege of it, however, the Tower of Orthanc in the middle was not able to be destroyed. Isengard's circle wall is about a mile in diameter, which was a perfect ground for Saruman to use as his forges and breeding grounds.
